Globe7 Announces Strategic Partnership with New Straits Times Press
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Globe7 HK and New Straits Times Press (NSTP) have entered into a strategic partnership to offer casual gaming on the company's popular Malay language Web site.

The New Straits Times Press was established on July 15, 1845, making it the oldest English-language newspaper in Malaysia.

The newspaper experienced massive circulation growth by offering news to market-oriented Malay readers, and has grown from a single edition newspaper to a five-edition national newspaper.

As part of the pact, Globe7 will host casual gaming, offering more than 100 free online games and adding to the site's lifestyle and entertainment content in an effort to attract more young people. The site is operated by NSTP.

"We are very excited to host our casual games on Harian Metro's Web site," said Clayton Haswell, Globe7's president and CEO. "This strengthens our brand in Malaysia and helps NSTP's site become more popular and attractive to both users and advertisers."

Globe7 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northgate Technologies based in India. It is a global VoIP provider and a pioneer in digital infotainment, offering Internet solutions like games, streaming live TV, content hosting, and file sharing.

It also facilitates hosting and monetizing solutions worldwide, allowing Web sites to provide interactive services on the Internet.

Northgate Technologies is an innovative technology company with extensive research and development facilities in India. Its online advertising company, Axill Limited, is a major player in online ad placement and audience aggregation.

Earlier this year, Globe7 had unveiled a suite of Chinese Web tools for file sharing, live video streaming and VoIP calling.

The new application provides widgets, enabling SMS messaging, Internet calls at the lowest rates anywhere and over 500 games and puzzles in both Chinese and English. It also provides streaming video of breaking news and sports, live radio and TV broadcasts from around the world, foreign exchange converter, horoscopes, and several additional services.
