Critical Links Discusses Milestones, New Products and Contributions

As a global innovator providing broadband gateway solutions for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs), Critical Links will be hosting an exhibit at the upcoming ITEXPO (News - Alert) in Los Angeles.

 
Critical Links’ goal is to dramatically simplify and cost-reduce while offering a host of advanced voice, data and other ICT applications. Its edgeBOX product is an award-winning multi-function gateway device that provides VoIP, IP-PBX (News - Alert), VPNs, security, NAC and QoS as well as Web server, e-mail server and data storage. It is available on a range of scalable and fault-tolerant platforms to support up to 300 users.
 
Abdul Kasim, vice president of marketing and business development for Critical Links (News - Alert), recently answered several of my questions in advance of the company’s appearance at the ITEXPO.
 
RT: What has been your company’s biggest achievement in 2008 so far?
AK: Extent of impact in the marketplace, with milestone wins at Service Providers, End users and Resellers!
 
RT: What can we expect to see from your company in the next 12 months?
AK: More features like video and continual efforts to simplify deployment and management and integration with business applications.
 
RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?
AK: Higher spending by the Small and Medium Businesses; focus on simplifying the infrastructure.
 
RT: What company made the biggest contribution to communications this year?
AK: Critical Links – changing the paradigm of complex/sophisticated features cost more to sophisticated features cost less and can propel the competitiveness. Google (News - Alert) also made a big contribution.
 
RT: How has Google changed our markets?
AK: Made it more efficient.
 
RT: How about Apple (News - Alert)?
AK: Creating a converging mobile platform!
 
RT: What mobile phone(s) do you use?
AK: VZ.
 
RT: Who will win in an Apple/RIM war?
AK: No clear winners.
 
RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?
AK: More integration, but also fragmented and confusing as ever.
 
RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO this September?
AK: Broadest feature set platform for SMB.
 
RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?
AK: SMBs, VARs, Manufacturers of (complementary) Telecom equipment.
 
RT: Why should customers choose your company’s solutions?
AK: Feature superiority at very economic cost.
 
RT: Please make one surprising prediction for 2009.
AK: The Service Provider market finally wakes up to the SMB opportunity.
