New Biometric Access through Ceelox ID for Citrix
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Ceelox recently adapted the Ceelox Identity Access Management tool for working with Citrix servers and client computers. Florida-based private software development firm Ceelox is a Citrix Technology Partner which supplies its primary tool, the Ceelox ID, as a stand-alone and network application or as a software development kit to clients.

With "Biometric Security Software made Simple" as it’s motto, the firm’s Ceelox ID tool is a sophisticated one which uses fingerprints for allowing access to personal computers, networks, applications, Internet and Web sites.

As it scans user fingerprints, a user bio-template is created by Ceelox ID with no requirements to save a fingerprint image. Creation of the bio-template eliminates the need for a password to be entered by the user.

"Using biometrics to secure access to centralized Citrix networks is a giant leap forward for Ceelox," commented Gerry Euston, chief executive officer at Ceelox.
Another way in which the Ceelox ID is different from other IAM (Identity Access Management) tools is that it has no requirements for an administrator to control systems by changing or creating new accounts for users. Ceelox ID simply searches for the user’s bio-template on both local and server computers and allows users to log on to their systems by sliding their finger for LAN (Local Area Network), program and Web site access even in the absence of a server.

CEO Euston also announced that Ceelox ID has been the first biometric IAM tool that allows multiple Citrix clients to work in a transparent environment with any number of Citrix servers as necessary.

"Since both biometrics and Citrix servers are such rapidly growing markets, combining the two opportunities together strategically places Ceelox at the crossroads of much larger markets," Euston stated.

By working with Citrix, Ceelox has created strong relationships with other companies like Bayshore Technologies, which is a systems integrator that specializes in Citrix Server Farms.

"Ceelox ID Server Edition works seamlessly with our virtualization client user authentication," remarked Winston DuBose, director of business development at Bayshore. "We are thrilled with the product and the company. Both of us having Tampa area headquarters is a real plus for our teams."
