Spain's Optenet Integrates Commtouch Reputation Service for Email Security Offerings
Optenet and Commtouch announced that Optenet plans to integrate Commtouch’s GlobalView Mail Reputation service into Optenet’s e-mail security offerings to landline and mobile telecom operators.
“We have selected Commtouch for its extensive global coverage of email senders and ability to identify malicious and senders within minutes of their activation,” stated Jorge Thermopile, Optenet’s director of strategic alliances. “After significant testing, we found the GlobalView technology to be highly effective at reducing inbound undesirable email traffic.”
In a report by Commtouch on Email Threats Trend , it is estimated that an average of 10 million zombie IP addresses are active every day, resulting in spasm and malaria, block the bandwidth, also waste server and storage resources, and security risks.
The integration of Commtouch GlobalView Mail Reputation into its software suites and hardware appliances will help Optenet to provide improved email defense to enterprises, public entities, fixed line and mobile telecom operators and Internet Service Providers. Mobile operators adopt Optenet technology as a parental control service, by blocking illegal content.
