“This partnership with Microsoft is a key milestone toward reaching our shared goal of demonstrating the strong capabilities of our respective platforms,” commented John Hart, senior vice president of business development and marketing for IntelePeer.
“Our jointly developed applications will showcase the next wave of communications services that is possible without incurring capital costs and risk. Prospective customers will be able to see how voice, data and rich-media services can be blended into existing products, delivering a new surge of communications-enabled business processes that transform the user experience and enhance productivity,” added Hart.
Joseph Hofstader, architect, Microsoft Communications Sector group, explained that Microsoft collaborated with IntelePeer to enable third-party media and content providers to voice-enable applications using Microsoft’s Live Services and the IntelePeer AppworX platform.
The personalized media widgets include a white-labeled widget which will allow a user to use a single login to register and maintain preferences on multiple sites or applications like configuring conference call parameters. This includes bridge numbers, PIN numbers, and callback numbers. It also allows registering to become a member of social or business network.
A user’s communication preferences will be already known when he logs into an “IntelePeer Powered Site” using a Microsoft LiveID This includes how and when to receive calls, on what device etc.
The widget features business collaboration applications and social networking sites which are enhanced with voice, streaming video, music, communication and conferencing capabilities. The user can work with a familiar interface built on Microsoft Live Messenger. This is beneficial for entertainment artists for engaging fans and promoting their events. It also helps business users look for higher team collaboration and thereby increase productivity.
This widget will integrate the IntelePeer SuperRegistry, Bridge-to-Services, Conference On-Demand, and Voice and SMS Blast with Microsoft Live ID, Microsoft Messenger, Microsoft Contacts and Microsoft Silverlight.
IntelePeer will be making this widget, available to software platforms and carrier partners’ end users besides providing other applets and Web services. They will be branded and skinned so as to complement the applications of the partners said the company.
