Alert), a provider of high-performance networking solutions, has announced that Finpro, Finland’s overseas trade association, has rolled out a converged global network based on Juniper Networks EX-series Ethernet switches.
Finpro has network deployments in 58 offices across 45 countries. The company selected the Juniper solution in an effort to provide fast, reliable and secure voice, data and video communications between its Finnish headquarters and remote export centers around the world.
As one of the world’s most established overseas trade associations with more than 500 member enterprises, Finpro wanted to replace its existing switch infrastructure as it could not provide sufficiently robust performance to scale with its growing network demands.
The company was already an existing customer of Juniper’s firewall/VPN, Secure Access SSL VPN and application acceleration solutions and therefore familiar with Juniper’s ability to deliver high-performance network infrastructure. As such, Finpro was confident in its decision to base its new network infrastructure on the Juniper EX-series Ethernet switches.
“Sharing ideas, best practices and experiences gained from working across so many different geographies is the key to successfully advising our rapidly expanding membership,” said Jarmo Jonninen, IT manager at Finpro, in a Wednesday statement.
Finpro serves more than 2,000 Finnish businesses worldwide with consulting and marketing services.
“However, effective global collaboration relies on the quality of our network. We chose to leverage the ability of the EX-series switches to simplify our operations via consolidation and convergence, while maximizing performance and stability,” added Jonninen.
“By enabling us to converge all disparate networks onto a single IP infrastructure, the Juniper solution can help us scale to meet future requirements while ensuring we minimize cost and maximize existing infrastructure investments,” explained Jonninen.
Part of Juniper’s broad portfolio of high-performance network infrastructure, the EX-series Ethernet switches are designed to address an organization’s unique business requirements and create a secure, reliable network suited to converged network deployments.
These switches are positioned as being easy to deploy and manage, while also supporting more energy-efficient network operation. Powered by JUNOS software, the EX-series switches simplify the rollout of new features and applications that can enhance business operations without threatening network performance.
“Finpro’s use of the EX-series switches is a model of how we intended these innovative products to help solve our customers’ networking problems and help to achieve their business goals,” said Gert-Jan Schenk, senior vice president of operations, EMEA, Juniper Networks, in the Wednesday statement.
“Finpro has taken full advantage of the advanced functionality we offer to achieve a secure, converged and cost-effective global communications infrastructure. We are pleased to have been instrumental in delivering such a clear business benefit to this organization,” Schenk explained.
Juniper Networks was able to benefit in this situation from a strong performance with an existing client. Finpro had already experienced success in relying on Juniper and this latest move was driven by this strong relationship. As such, the company was able to move forward with confidence, a significant testament to current performance as service delivery is essential to continued success and growth.
