Alert) solution uncovers various deployment issues including Distributed Denial of Service, Zero day, Content source and Channel zapping attacks - all prior to deployment, thereby enabling service providers to ensure the successful market launch of their IPTV services.
According to the company, all existing IMS and non-IMS Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) platforms that are part of the Global MSF Interoperability (GMI) 2008 event are compatible with DEFENSICS security test platform.
Codenomicon (

The Global MSF Interoperability event is claimed to be a linker of carrier, government, and academic labs on three continents in a demonstration of multi-vendor interoperability between a significant numbers of NGN elements supporting Implementation Agreements developed in support of the MSF Release 4 Architecture and practical deployment scenarios of interest to major carriers. GMI 2008 will be held from October 20-31, 2008.
“Codenomicon is the only Protocol Robustness and Security test equipment vendor to provide testing services at all GMI 2008 labs," said Andy Huckridge (

"Our new solution provides invaluable feedback to both Network Equipment Manufacturers and Service Providers because they can spot and correct issues before they actually deploy. This represents a significant savings in both time and revenues.”
The company claims DEFENSICS offers higher blackbox, negative testing against a range of applications, spanning over 130 Internet, wireless and digital media protocols. It enables organizations to safeguard the modern internet and communication between the networked devices.
Officials assert that DEFENSICS does not work like code analyzers and after-the-fact vulnerability scanners. Its ability to offer vulnerability tests at the protocol-level to identify and resolve issues and the systematic blackbox negative testing capabilities can result in reputation, quality, compliance and liability risks.
