Azuki Systems, thePlatform Team to Help Boston.TV Deliver Content to Mobile Devices
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Azuki Systems has announced that it’s working with the white-labeled video management and publishing company thePlatform (News - Alert) to extend Boston.TV’s desktop content to mobile devices.

The companies expect that this partnership will also enable the “rapid” and “seamless” socialization of rich mobile media.

Boston’s online video entertainment network, Boston. TV, is leveraging Azuki’s MashMedia Platform and thePlatform’s Media Publishing System (mps). Leveraging these technologies, Boston TV plans to build and sustain mobile community around Boston events, entertainment, sports, and more.

This relation with Azuki and thePlatform has provided Boston.TV the ability to automate the process of optimizing its desktop videos and other rich media content for mobile devices.

The online video network was seeking a way to reach the mobile users, and make the Web video “easily” accessible to them. In addition, according to Eran Lobel, founder of Boston TV, “entice our PC community to follow us to the third screen.”

“Through our work with Azuki and thePlatform, mobile users can have a personalized, interactive experience and can help shape and define the best elements of Boston,” said Lobel.

The working with these two companies has enabled mobile users to view and interact with content on Boston.TV's channels. Plus, mobile users can comment on and rate videos.

Moreover, through BuddyBlast functionality, they can now share annotated media with contacts across SMS, Facebook (News - Alert), and other social networks.

The pairing of thePlatform content management capabilities with Azuki's suite of personalization and socialization services will enable Boston TV to “quickly” publish its content to a host of mobile devices and audiences,” said Jordan Friedman, senior business development manager at thePlatform.

For content publishers, Azuki Systems and thePlatform partnership offers “hassle-free mechanism” for automating the process of extending content from the desktop to mobile devices.

While thePlatform's mps provides a central hub to manage, monetize and syndicate video content, Azuki's MashMedia Platform brings this content to a mobile audience.

This allows Boston.TV to build, deploy and monetize interactive mobile media services. In addition, it also enables it to serve content and advertisements that are relevant to individual users.

Additionally, Azuki's and thePlatform have a combined marketing relationship, allowing Boston.TV to deliver personalized and interactive video streams to mobile devices.

“Our relationship with thePlatform will enable Boston.TV and other content publishers to easily move their rich media content -- and, consequently, their PC audience—to the third screen, fostering community around compelling and easily socialized services,” said Jim Ricotta, CEO at Azuki.
