Synchronoss to Make Media Players, Digital Cameras Wireless-Enabled
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. reportedly has announced a new version of its platform, ConvergenceNow Plus.

The product is designed to allow emerging devices to become wireless-enabled, including media players, digital cameras, mobile computers, mobile Internet devices and mobile navigation gadgets.

Synchronoss is a Bridgewater, New Jersey-based company that provides electronic order management solutions software for the communications services industry. ConvergenceNow Plus is expected to help operators and OEMs to streamline subscriber account management and service activation besides supporting new emerging devices. It will also support activation, provisioning, additional transactions and functions like inventory, management for emerging devices, trouble ticketing and product fulfillment, company officials say.

According to Nancee Ruzicka, a senior research analyst at Stratecast and Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert), the influx of pervasive and ubiquitous mobile broadband networks is bringing new opportunities for mobile network operators and OEMs to launch new converged devices that transcend personal communications and enter the broader field of telematics, cameras, laptops, and durable goods.

“End customers expect these new devices to quickly deliver an array of applications seamlessly and without hassle after purchase,” Ruzicka said. “A product like ConvergenceNow Plus that streamlines account creation and activation becomes critical to delivering a high quality initial customer experience in this environment.”

Synchronoss developed and launched ConvergenceNow as a services-oriented, architecture-based solution suite which will activate and provide converged services with different lead times and interfaces. It will also integrate both legacy and next generation networks. ConvergenceNow accelerates the order to cash process and activates complex service bundles like voice, video, wireless, high speed Internet access and content.

Bob Garcia, chief operating officer of Synchronoss, said that the market for converged communication services and emerging devices is growing very fast and there is great demand from consumers for connectivity in several places. Synchronoss’ ConvergenceNow Plus platform will provide customers with a truly end-to-end and seamless customer experience, from order capture, activation, provisioning, and fulfillment to the complete customer care operation.

Synchronoss provides on-demand transaction management software required by Tier One communications service providers. The company drives growth for service providers in markets as it enables them to deliver better customer experience at loss costs. Synchronoss has introduced software platforms like ActivationNow, ConvergenceNow and ConvergenceNow Plus. These help automate, synchronize and also simplify electronic service creation and management of advanced wireline, wireless and IP services on existing networks.
