TMCnet Contributing Editor

While spreading its wings further, FiberNet Telecom Group, a provider of complex interconnection services, has expanded to Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida.

The newly deployed networks are part of the company’s project that also includes increasing its network capacity in the New York metro market; deploying additional capacity in Los Angeles; extending the network to San Francisco; and augmenting its metro Ethernet network.

"Network expansion into these critical markets was of prime importance for us," said John Dowd, vice president of business development, in a statement. "With these extensions, we can now meet our customers' demand for expanded network reach."

FiberNet Telecom Group (News - Alert) owns and operates integrated colocation facilities and diverse transport routes in the two gateway markets of New York/New Jersey and Los Angeles. Its solutions are designed to provide comprehensive broadband interconnectivity enabling the exchange of traffic over multiple networks.

The company’s customized connectivity infrastructure provides an advanced, high bandwidth, fiber-optic solution to support the demand for network capacity and to facilitate the interconnection of multiple carriers' and customers' networks.
