The WaveRider LMS8000 900 MHz Series was launched in 2007 and helps wireless Internet service providers to deliver the most competitive 900 MHz broadband services.
LMS8000 900 MHz Series features Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology and includes the WaveRider Dynamic Polling MAC with data speeds of up to 13.5 Mbps and access speeds up to 8 Mbps in a 5.5MHz channel.
When launched, the LMS8000 Series consists of the CCU8000 base station, the CCU8010 Integrated base station, and the EUM8000 subscriber station. With this latest announcement, the EUM8005 indoor modem is also commercially available.
The new EUM8005 indoor radio helps wireless Internet service providers to increase their return on investment by deploying premium indoor, high throughput wireless broadband access gear to their subscribers, said the company. The new EUM8005 is fully compatible with the new OFDM LMS8000 system of base stations and outdoor modems released in December 2007.
"This new high modulation indoor radio is the 5th generation of WaveRider indoor modems and an important part of our broader wireless product portfolio," said Surinder Kumar, chief executive officer at Vecima.
"Based on the commercial success of the LMS8000 series of OFDM 900 MHz broadband equipment we introduced late last year, we have aggressively continued to develop our wireless product line to ensure it remains the performance market leader," added Kumar.
The new unit features true "Plug and Play" connectivity including power over Ethernet (PoE), and an external antenna connector.
