Digitel Picks Acision's Anti-Spam Solution
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Digitel GSM, a mobile network operator in Venezuela, has partnered with messaging company Acision to deploy Acision’s (News - Alert) Content Control offering which will protect their subscribers against receiving fraudulent messages and violations of their privacy.

Acision has been offering communication solutions for over 300 network operators and service providers globally. The company’s mobile data services include; text messaging, multimedia messaging, mobile Internet, mobile marketing, voicemail, videomail, and more.

Though mobile messaging services have increased tremendously today, there is also an increased level of threat due to unsolicited spam messages. In order to protect users from spam messages and to enhance the operator's reputation, Acision has come out with a solution called Content Control that detects unsolicited spam messages and controls messages received from other providers.

Acision’s Content Control is a complete solution that addresses the need for coordinated monitoring and control at application, network and subscriber levels. It can be deployed with Acision’s Message Plus and Open Messaging Gateway (News - Alert) (OMG). Further protection is offered to users through the enablement of 'third party aliasing'. This feature protects the user's identity from being captured preventing their number from being used to fraudulently send unsolicited messages.

Digitel GSM said, "With the deployment of Acision Content Control, we are able to guarantee the security of our customers on the network. We will be able to detect fraudulent messages and block un-solicited messages."

"In addition to offering a solution that increases the security of Digitel customers and eliminating inconvenient spam messages, Acision Content Control contributes to cost reductions as a result of the automated traffic monitoring," said Eduardo Bueno, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Acision's Latin America unit.
