Stay-Linked Corporation announced that its validated speech-enabled terminal emulation offering will be released on September 30. The solution makes use of CTG’s Montage Voice product (powered by Vulcan Voice) along with Stay-Linked’s innovative, host-based, thin-client terminal emulation software. This allows customers to phase-in the deployment of “Voice Enhanced” screens within their host applications.

 

The combined validated solution allows a voice-driven data input/output capability which has been demonstrated over the past months for the selection of Stay-Linked VAR partners, ERP vendors and device manufacturers. The Stay-Linked voice-enhancing Host APIs of version 9.1 provide the dynamic integration with CTG’s product. This will be included as a standard feature of Stay-Linked’s terminal emulation solution.

 

“Prior to Stay-Linked’s integration of CTG’s robust speech recognition into standard Telnet and SSH streams, customers had limited options when deciding to implement voice capabilities into their systems,” said David Griffith, president of Stay-Linked.

 

According to Griffith, there was a necessity for an expensive front-end application that needed to be interfaced to the customer’s ERP, a stand-alone application that imposes its own set of business processes. Otherwise some cobbled-together ‘fat client’ running on the remote device was required.

 

Stay-Linked and CTG’s Montage Voice form an innovative combination. Both the solutions for speech recognition and terminal emulation have been integrated so that customers can speech-enable their existing host screens and avoid the hugely expensive and complex implementation issues associated with previous offerings. This solution can be phased-in quickly and inexpensively into existing business processes by the customers’ internal staff.

 

CTG’s Montage Voice is the latest addition to the Stay-Linked Validated solutions. The others are Odyssey Software’s (News - Alert) Athena Mobile Device Management software and Pragma Systems’ Telnet and SSH server software. Stay-Linked specializes in the innovation of next-generation solutions offering reliable and secure remote access to host business applications.

 

Stay-Linked Corporation began developing the New Standard for managing wireless terminal emulation sessions and devices few years back. Stay-Linked offered thin-client terminal emulation solution which was different from existing device-side technologies that evolved from the wired terminal model.

 

Making use of the proprietary Client2Host architecture, Stay-Linked offered the host-based thin-client terminal emulator and provided true software-only session persistence. It provides a GUI Administrator console for emulation configuration and session control. The emulator also features Advanced Terminal Session Management (ATSM).
